As part of the EVO Japan 2025 reveals, Activision Blizzard and Capcom unveiled an Overwatch 2 Street Fighter skin collection that includes major figures like Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, and M. Bison. These skins will be sold starting on May 20, 2025. A trailer also appeared, but it is completely animated and doesn’t actually show how each of the designs look in-game.

There will be eight total skins as part of this crossover. We don’t know how all will be doled out yet, and if there will be any free options. Typically, these sorts of crossovers involve content being added to the in-game store so people can purchase them for real money.

Here’s the full list of costumes available, with all of them being major Street Fighter mainstays like Ryu, Blanka, Chun-Li, Cammy, M. Bison, and Guile.

  • Hanzo will get a Ryu skin.
  • Juno will get a Chun-Li skin.
  • Kiriko will get a Juri skin.
  • Sigma will get an M. Bison skin.
  • Soldier: 76 will get a Guile skin.
  • Widowmaker will get a Cammy skin.
  • Winston will get a Blanka skin.
  • Zenyatta will get a Dhalsim skin.

As a reminder, there’s currently another major crossover skin collection available in Overwatch 2. Bandai Namco revealed a Gundam Wing collection. This involves skins that turn people into mechs. The four featured characters with new looks in that series are Mercy, Ramattra, Reaper, Soldier: 76.

Overwatch 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Street Fighter skins will show up in-game on May 20, 2025.

Avatar Overwatch 2 Trailer Shows Character Skins

Last week, Activision and Blizzard announced the Overwatch 2 crossover with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and now there’s a trailer showing us more of the character skins we’ll be able to get. There are six heroes who will be available, with some of the most notable being Zenyatta as Aang and Mei getting a free Katara costume. The event starts on December 17, 2024, and it will end on December 30, 2024.

The trailer begins with a teaser showing silhouettes of the different Overwatch 2 characters in the Avatar skins as they perform actions. It is then that it cuts to Zenyatta in the Aang attire. We get to see footage of him, as well as first-person gameplay. The Katara version of Mei comes up after that. The video makes sure to point out that we are able to earn this Epic Skin by playing. It’s free, unlike the others. After Mei, we see Venture in Toph attire. That’s followed by Genji in the Zuko skin. Kiriko shows up as Suki after that, followed by the Orisa Appa skin.

Here’s the full trailer from YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBE-YE7xHbM&ab_channel=PlayOverwatch

While the skins are the most obvious and likely desirable items in the crossover, there are other items too. Challenges will be available until December 30, 2024 that are based on the show. If you complete them, you can get cosmetics like icons, sprays, and voiced lines.

These kinds of Overwatch 2 crossovers with other series are common now, and we’ve seen quite a few notable ones before this Avatar collab. For example, there was a One Punch Man one in 2023. A My Hero Academia crossover followed that. In 2024, we also ended up seeing Transformers and Cowboy Bebop show up.

Overwatch 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Avatar: The Last Airbender event runs until December 30, 2024. You can find the Avatar series streaming on Netflix.

My Hero Academia Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is no stranger to collaborations, and received a series of My Hero Academia skins on October 17, 2024. Famitsu interviewed Art Director of Overwatch 2, Dion Rogers, which revealed how the collaboration came to be, and what decided certain characters receiving specific skins. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Dion Rogers, the Art Director of Overwatch 2, said this concerning how the skins were chosen for the My Hero Academia crossover.

The team has a list of series that more or less match the "theme" of Overwatch 2, including things we've loved as children or have become interested in or addicted to! One of them is My Hero Academia, which we're collaborating with right now. My Hero Academia has that same positive outlook when it comes to being a hero, which is great.. I think the collaboration has good synergy.

Dion Rodgers, Blizzard Entertainment

When it came to deciding which character would receive skins, the team decided based on personality and circumstance. Rogers stated that Trace and Deku have similar personalities, and that their origin stories are similar. At least in of meeting an aspirational figure and that more or less deciding their initial journey.

Reinhardt was given an All Might skin, which the development team decided was a natural choice. This was due to Reinhardt's bombastic personality and booming voice. However, there were a lot of adjustments made to his face to make sure he encapsulated the character. A "withered" All Might skin was also considered, but it was too difficult to implement, and that idea was subsequently shelved.

Overwatch 2 is readily available for free on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Switch, and PC. The My Hero Academia crossover skins will be available until October 30, 2024.

Overwatch 2 Juno

Activision Blizzard has revealed that the latest hero for Overwatch 2 is Juno. In addition, she will be available as a limited time trial from July 19-21, 2024, ahead of her full release in August.

Juno was previously teased as a new Overwatch 2 hero at BlizzCon 2023 under the codename Space Ranger, but now she has received a full gameplay trailer. Hailing from a Mars colony, her moveset is based around sci-fi technology. Juno will be released as part of Season 20 on August 20, 2024, but players will be able to try her out on July 19-21, 2024, where she will be available as part of a limited trial.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GspacNMHSbM

Her primary fire is the Mediblaster, a burst fire weapon, while her secondary fire is the Pulsar Torpedoes, which are homing missiles. She can also double jump and perform a horizontal glide thanks to her Martian Overboots and deploy a Hyper Ring that can increase ally movement. Her Ultimate is the Orbital Ray, a laser that fires from space and travels forward. All her abilities will damage enemies while healing allies.

Activision Blizzard also revealed the voice actor for Juno. She will be voiced by Xanthe Huynh, whose previous credits include Haru in Persona 5, Pela in Honkai: Star Rail and Marianne in Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Juno is the latest hero to be revealed for Overwatch 2. The previous character to be added to the cast was Venture, a Damage focused hero released in Apil 2024.

Overwatch 2 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Juno will be available on August 20, 2024, with a free trial on July 19-21, 2024.

The latest Overwatch 2 Transformers trailer ahead of the July 9, 2024 event showed Bastion as Bumblebee, Reinhardt as Optimus Prime, and Illari as Arcee. This comes after a July 5, 2024 Overwatch Transmission comic confirmed Megatron Rammatra.

Here’s the full animated Overwatch 2 Transformers trailer. It begins with us seeing the Bumblebee version of Bastion. After that, we see the Illari version of Arcee lying on some grass with her gun nearby. This is followed by the Optimus Prime version of Reinhardt at a castle, with his hammer at his side. The video doesn’t note if there will be any special limited-time mode to go along with the crossover.

This comes following the return of Pink Mercy. That skin and a Rose Gold Mercy Bundle appeared for Breast Cancer Research Foundation . Those are only available until July 8, 2024. If people buy them, Blizzard donates all money spent to charity.

Overwatch 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Transformers crossover event begins on July 9, 2024.

As the video goes on, Megatron Rammatra shows up. We then see the Transformers versions of the characters take action to fight against Rammatra.

Overwatch 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Transformers crossover event begins on July 9, 2024.

pharah overwatch recast

Following comments from Jen Cohn, the voice actress for Pharah from Overwatch, about freeing Palestine from Hamas, Overwatch fans have been calling for Blizzard to recast her. She made these comments in a livestream. [Thanks, PC Gamer!]

A Change.org petition started on February 14, 2024 in response to Cohn’s remarks. As a note, Cohn’s livestream where she made the comments about the conflict in Palestine occurred on February 10, 2024. As of the time of writing, the petition has garnered 4359 signatures, with a goal of 5000. The comment in question was, “Yes, free Palestine from Hamas” after someone in her chat commented “Free Palestine.” She followed this up with comments about how she hopes Palestinians be healthy and happy, and that they live with autonomy and in safety. However, viewers were angry when she called the conflict a “war” and that it would be wonderful “when both sides are able to stop fighting.”

Online, s have been calling for Blizzard to recast Pharah. Their reasoning is that Cohn is a Zionist and is spreading Zionist propaganda using the platform she got from her role in Overwatch. Some have even pointed out that Pharah is a mixed Egyptian character, which makes Cohn’s role as her even more inappropriate.

Though the Gaza-Israel conflict has been ongoing since the late 1940s, the recent Israel-Hamas war started in October 2023 after militant Palestinian groups attacked southern Israel. Many groups and activists have called for a ceasefire, citing that Israel is committing a genocide of the Palestinian people. As of February 19, 2024, Israel has killed over 29,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023. About two-thirds of this number are women and children.

Overwatch 2 is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. Blizzard has not made any statements about Cohn, or whether it plans to recast her as Pharah in Overwatch, yet.

Borderlands Tiny Tina and Overwatch 2 Kiriko and Sojourn Nendoroids Coming

At Anime Expo 2023, Good Smile Company announced a Borderlands 2 Tiny Tina Nendoroid and showed Overwatch 2 Kiriko and Sojourn Nendoroids. They are all at various stages of development. Tiny Tina only just ended up announced, so only concept art of her figure appeared. Sojourn only showed up as an unpainted prototype. Meanwhile, Kiriko seems fairly far along in the design process, as she appeared as a painted prototype.

First, here's the Tiny Tina Borderlands Nendoroid reveal. While it only mentions the general series name, it seems to be pulling from her Borderlands 2 appearance. It does suggest that one of her stuffed rabbits will be included as an accessory.

Next, here's how the Overwatch 2 Sojourn figure looks so far. She's equipped with her railgun in the first photo.

Finally, here's the how the Kiriko Overwatch 2 Nendoroid is coming along. As it is a painted version, we'll likely see pre-orders open for her in the near future.

As Twitter is experiencing issues and restricting the number of tweets people can read, here is a backup gallery of the concept art and photos in the event the announcements are lost.

There's no release window for any of these Borderlands or Overwatch 2 Nendoroids yet. Good Smile Company also revealed a Cult of the Lamb one at the event as well.

Anime Expo runs July 1-4, 2023 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

Overwatch 2 PvE Hero Mode Canceled in Favor of Story Missions

The new Overwatch 2 roap is here for season 5 through 7, and it confirmed that the PvE Hero Mode option is being scrapped in favor of Story Missions. Upon the announcement coming out, GameSpot also shared an interview with Director Aaron Keller and Executive Producer Jared Neuss that went over the decision to get rid of this mode and why.

In the GameSpot interview by Tamoor Hussain, resources were cited as an issue. Specifically, Director Keller noted that that development of the Overwatch 2 PvE Hero Mode would be like “running two separate games at the same time with a set of Heroes as the piece that is shared between two of them.” He noted the time necessary to do that and resources meant it was “pulling focus away from the live game.”

Neuss also expounded on how much extra work it involved and told GameSpot:

But for games like this, it's tougher because the team was building something that is totally different than anything that they'd built before. These story missions are significantly different than Archives or other ways that [we've] told stories inside the game before. And so developing those, what it takes to do that, the technology required, the people required, the iteration required is all different.

As for the new roap, people will still need to wait a while for any sort of PvE Story Mission in Overwatch 2. The fourth season will end on June 13, 2023, with the fifth season following that with events like Mischief & Magic, Questwatch, and Summer Games. Since seasons are about nine weeks long, it won’t be until sometime in August 2023 that the sixth season will bring with it a new Hero, Flashpoint, Hero Mastery, and Story Missions. (As a reminder, Lifeweaver was the last new Hero added in Season 4.)

There are several heroes that are beginner-friendly and we've compiled a list of the best Overwatch 2 characters for newcomers to try out.

While Overwatch 2 is still under a year old, it's very much a continuation of the original game that launched back in 2016. As a result, it can be intimidating for new players to get into Overwatch 2, since they have to make sense of a roster of over 30 characters while going up against players who have potentially been playing the game for seven years. Thankfully, there are several heroes that are beginners friendly and we've compiled a guide to the best Overwatch 2 ones to try out.

[caption id="attachment_962538" align="alignnone" width="1200"]best overwatch 2 characters for beginners Image via Blizzard[/caption]

Soldier 76 14f5s

If you've ever played a shooter like Halo or Call of Duty, then Soldier 76 will feel familiar. He has a gun, self-healing, mini rockets, and an ultimate that allows you to lock onto enemies. Add in his sprint ability and you have a character that's good in most situations and great for beginners who are still getting a sense for the flow of Overwatch 2. Plus he's got a ton of great skins.

[gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="962539" link="file"]

Reaper 6p3c6e

Edgy. Dark. Brooding. Great for beginners! That's the whole deal with the hero Reaper in Overwatch 2. His dual shotguns work well up close and you'll want to be in the thick of the action.  With every piece of damage you do, you activate Reaper's life steal ability which heals you slightly and rewards you for being in the frontline. Also, Reaper has a fade ability that lets him retreat without taking damage which is another nice aspect of his kit. He's great for beginners who want to dive head-first into the fray, while not getting completely eviscerated.

[gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="962540" link="file"]

Moira 445e3f

Moira attac! Moira protec! Moira is a great choice for beginners. She has high healing output with her Biotic Orb and Biotic Grasp, while also being a formidable offensive healer. Her damage orb and lock-on damage make her a great choice for 1v1 fights and for finishing off other s and DPS characters. Her ultimate allows her to stay in the backline and does damage to enemies while healing allies. If that wasn't enough, Moira has a quick fade ability that lets her reposition quickly, making her great for beginners. She's not the most exciting healer but you got to start somewhere.

[caption id="attachment_962541" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Image via Blizzard Image via Blizzard[/caption]

Mercy 1s6d1g

One button to heal. One button to boost damage. Stand. Heal. Boost. That's generally the start for Mercy players. In of getting a sense of the game, Mercy's base playstyle allows you to hold back a bit and feel like a part of the action, without having to rely too heavily on mechanics and quick decision-making. The great thing about her kit is that her ultimate flips the script, as it gives her boosted flight and speed that entices players to pull out their blaster and take on low-health enemies or finish off tanks. Once you get more comfortable with Mercy there's a high skill ceiling involved in her movement abilities and the decision on when to heal, when to boost damage, and when to resurrect allies.

[caption id="attachment_962543" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Image via Blizzard Image via Blizzard[/caption]

Orisa 4g243r

Orisa never stops shooting, she has an ability that eats incoming damage for a couple of seconds, and she possesses a super fun lance that she can use to throw and stun enemies. In short, there's a lot to like about Orisa. She does well to stay alive and also is able to isolate and eliminate squishier enemies while countering other tanks. Her ultimate is very close range and a little on the weaker side, but the character does well enough to stay alive and impactful to make her a stable choice for new Overwatch 2 players.

[caption id="attachment_962542" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Image via Blizzard Image via Blizzard[/caption]

Reinhardt z7043

He's fun, ok? While the other characters on the list are here because they have simple abilities and are able to stay alive and sustain for long periods, Reinhardt is worth trying because he's super fun. As a huge German man with a hammer and a shield, you'll feel an insatiable desire to charge into the fight. Don't fight it. While charging in isn't recommended at high levels, it's generally fun and effective for beginners. Also, his ultimate slams enemies in front of him to the ground, allowing you to swing your hammer and use your fire strike. REINHARDT, REINHARDT, REINHARDT!!

Who do you think is the most beginner-friendly character in Overwatch 2 and, more importantly, which one of the heroes is your go-to?

Overwatch 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.

New Overwatch Hero Lifeweaver Kinda Sucks, and That’s Ok

It has been just over a week since Lifeweaver was added to Overwatch 2, and he has managed to accomplish something that very few freshly revealed heroes in Overwatch's history have been able to achieve. He's really bad upon his release.

It's no secret that most Overwatch heroes enter the game completely overtuned. From Rammattra and his never ending ultimate, to the meta-defining, and arguably game-killing shenanigans of Brigitte from the Overwatch days of yore, new heroes are normally overpowered and then subsequently nerfed. The conventional thinking is that you want as many people as possible to play new heroes, so that they can catch up to heroes that have have already been established in the game. Arguably the best way to do so is to go the Rammattra or Brigitte route and make them a must pick. With Lifeweaver, we finally get to see the Overwatch team work their balancing in the other direction. This is especially exciting because, even though Lifeweaver is "omegalul trash" right now, his kit is perhaps the most interesting one in the game.

New Overwatch Hero Lifeweaver Kinda Sucks, and That’s Ok

Starting with his main healing, Lifeweaver has a burst charge called Healing Volley that locks onto one teammate at a time and heals up to 65 health. It works well long range, which makes it great for topping up heroes like Pharah and Echo, and it's quite satisfying to use. Unfortunately, it just doesn't heal enough. On the damage side, he has Thorn Volley, which similarly feels good to use, thanks to its lack of damage fall-off, but doesn't have enough ammo to be viable in-game. The other issue with healing and damage is that you have to toggle to switch between them, which makes them feel clunkier to use. He does have a Rejuvenating Dash, which allows him to dash up to six meters and self heal a tiny 25 HP, but like to the damage and health moves, it feels undertuned.

Lifeweaver's Tree of Life ultimate takes a long time to charge, but is easily one of the coolest ones in Overwatch 2. The massive space that it takes up on the map provides cover for low health teammates and heals 150 health instantly to allies, with each pulse of the tree healing an additional 50. It's a bit goofy, which is par for the course for a character that can put his teammates into a hamster ball and yoink them to safety or into a hole, depending on how much they're currently feeling. Lastly, his Petal Platform provides great utility for long range heroes like Widowmaker and overall team positioning. Being able to sneak a non-flying tank like Reinhardt or Ramattra onto high ground is super useful and adds some more chaos to Overwatch 2.

The fact that each part of his kit is fun to use should go a long way in making Lifeweaver an Overwatch 2 fan favorite in the long run. Thankfully, the dev team has already announced some tweaks that should make him more viable.

In the meantime, Lifeweaver's only available to players who have purchased the most recent battle , so if you're bummed about him being overpowered you can just wait until he's free next season. My guess is by then he'll not only still have a great kit but also be incredibly overtuned. Such is the beauty of Overwatch.

Who is Lifeweaver's Voice Actor in Overwatch 2

Now that Blizzard officially revealed Lifeweaver, the new Overwatch 2 Hero, his voice actor was also revealed. Phuwin Tangsakyuen will play the character. Overwatch 2 Lead Narrative Designer Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie revealed his identity. He also teased that there will be in-game "conversations" between Lifeweaver and Symmetra.

Here's a tweet from Tangsakyuen offering commentary on his character and sharing the newest trailer.

While Tangsakyuen’s role as the Overwatch 2 Lifeweaver voice actor is his first time playing a part in a video game, he’s been acting since 2014. Some of his more recent roles include Pi in Fish upon the Sky, Wifi in My Bubble Tea, and Nuengdiao Kiattrakulmethee in Never Let Me Go.

As for why there will be dialogues between Tangsakyuen’s Lifeweaver and Anjali Bhimani's Symmetra, it is because the two characters know each other in-game. Both use bio-light, with the Vishkar corporation attempting to take his invention. The two also apparently went to school with each other.

Overwatch 2 is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC, and Season 4 begins on April 11, 2023 and brings Lifeweaver with it. There will also be an event to go along with his debut running until April 24, 2023.
